Welcome inside!
Here you can buy cut flowers transformed in to creative floral arrangements, made by students.
The shop is open nearly ones a week.
This kind of learningsituation has showed many positive effects. Not only do they get positive respons from customers that build up there confidens. They also more naturaly experience salestheory in practice, almost like a workplace-based learning inside the schoolarea.
When the students "work" here they take responsibility and demonstrate another side of themselfs then in classroomlearning.

Is there any ohter opportunities when you have completed the program than to work in a shop? Is there more job possibilities for a florist?
ReplyDeleteand one more thing: a lot of interial design companies want to hire florists for their competens. Google Oddbirds and Nyfiken Grön to see how a florist mite work after school and some experienstime.
DeleteUnfortunately the fokus is most at shopsails and flowerarrangements to typical small flowershops. But as the flowerbransch has developed the knowledge also has developed. And we talk more wider (vertikal) about different parts of the compositionteories. subjects as "exponering" to for exampel "mässmontrar" colorknowledge, proportions, texture, historic genres is noncontextual. when students exam as florists a lot of them take part time jobs in flowershops wile they continue study for example gardendesign or gardener. Some florists conduct plants at different workingplaces, office and agency.
ReplyDeleteAll flowers you uses, are the students paying for all flowers, or do you sell all bouquets?
ReplyDeleteAll flowers are included in the three years education. But if someone student, teacher or others want to buy bouquets, decorations, plants or pots in the shop al money goes back in to the program. Very good i think.
ReplyDeleteIn the programme I practised Textile Design the students paid all material they used if they wanted to keep the garments. The school have materials, and the prices are low. If the student want a special button, zipper or fabric they have to buy it from a shop. Mostly the students kept their garment.
DeleteWe work with mortal material so we try to schedule big arranchemants in the beginning of the week and the students use the flowers down to small small itemes. And we share between classes. If the students like to keep bouquets for personal use they can buy for cost price. In the shop it´s also wery low prices because the school should not be economic profitable.
DeleteHi Hanna! Is it the same price on the flowers in your shop as in a "regular" flowershop or can you keep it lower? Can customers order flowers frome the shop for exampel a funeral?
ReplyDeleteIt´s importante that this shop not perceives as competition by other flowershops in the local town. As we have talked about in the parallell courses about collaboration school and working life. The prices are lower but it´s mostly schoolstaff and some others. It´s a good way of getting back what we have payed for the flowers, we don´t have to profit like normal shops. And the money goes directly in to the program again. Sometimes we have funeralorders but it´s not often. Mostly students or relatives that orders and staff.
DeleteI can se some beateful pillows in the picture. Do you collaborate with other programes or other specializations at the handicraft program?
ReplyDeleteWe have floristclasses that fokus more on interial design and they have more courses and subjects about art and form, design and so on. I heared that this had been a projekt in some artclass.
