 The students learn how to use the spinning wheel, making yarn from wool. Then the teacher show how to wound the yarn on a small bobbin, to fit in the shuttle. At the last picture the student is weaving, on a loom with four shafts.

Inside the sewing room. It´s a big room with sewing machines a long side the walls and large tables for pattern making in the middle. The classes aren´t full at this year so tht students have plenty of space.

The students have a fashion show coming up so there are things every where. Fässbergs only have two industrial sewing machines, the rest are household ones.

Fässbergsgymnasiet, Textile design

This is Fässbergsgymnasiet, in Möndal. It´s quite a large school with a big variety of programs, they have different art programs as well as technical, social studies and a music program among others. The picture shows the entrance to the "art house" where they have the art, music and theatre programs.

Handicraftprocess

When completed the arranchemant we try to inspire the students; to not only to take a picture at the result but more importent analyse and verbalice the process.

What was hard? What could i do in another way in the future? and so on and so on.

This bridalarrangement is a part of the designcourse of the handicraftprogram. This student has only four month left of her three years.

In the Swedish political policydocuments they upraise the need to help students transform ideas into finished products.

So before she came this far she had time to plan; get inspired by pichers at internet, books and then draw by hand.

If you look under the workingtabels you can see quite thick carpets. They are ergonomic and perfekt as we work on hard stonefloor.
